We are a family and employee owned and operated coffee company, operating six cafes in the city of Pittsburgh. One of our newest locations is located at Carnegie Mellon University, inside of the Hunt Library. This location holds a special place in our hearts, due to the fact that De Fer might not exist without Carnegie Mellon. Our founder—Matt Mariett—earned his MBA at CMU’s Tepper School of Business in 2010, and spent many hours studying and drinking coffee in that very library. The rest was history—and we remain thrilled and honored to be a part of this vibrant University community. All of our coffee is responsibly sourced and roasted fresh daily at our flagship store in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District.
